(ALEXANDRIA, VA) The National Foundation for Women Legislators announced Jay Newton-Small as the Keynote Presenter of their 2016 Annual Conference in Orlando, Florida, November 16-20. Newton-Small recently published the acclaimed book Broad Influence: How Women Are Changing the Way America Works. During her Keynote Address at the Installation Dinner on November 19, she will discuss the findings of her new book and conclude the evening with a special book signing for the elected women attending the conference.

Elected women from across the country will gather in Orlando for NFWL’s Annual Conference to identify effective solutions to some of the nation’s most pressing issues. Providing a non-partisan environment that encourages dialogue and the sharing of information and experiences, women leaders are able to build coalitions, share the concerns of their constituents, and identify out- of-the-box solutions to the pertinent problems facing their communities today.

Newton-Small’s new book explores the influence of women in government and suggests what steps must be taken for women to catapult their influence to new heights. She focuses on the victories of women and the strengths women bring to the table that propel them to success. Her vast knowledge and belief in the power of women will be an engaging and influential part of the conference and NFWL knows her presentation will be enlightening for the elected women in attendance.

“I am really looking forward to speaking to such an empowered group of women at the NFWL Annual Conference,” reflected Newton-Small, adding “women truly are changing the trajectory of our government. I’m excited to celebrate the accomplishments and dedication of elected women during my keynote address.”

“We are so proud Jay Newton-Small has accepted our invitation to speak at our annual conference,” stated Delaware Representative Helene Keeley, NFWL’s Chair. “As an accomplished contributor to TIME and author of a new book, her insight and expertise will play a key role in providing elected women with the resources, knowledge, and inspiration they need to grow both personally and professionally.”
