What legislation are you working on?

One of the greatest results from elected women coming together is the tone they set: the bipartisan collaboration, the sharing of legislative ideas, and the way they govern, lead, and work together. As part of our mission to help facilitate the exchange of diverse legislative ideas between elected women, we’re establishing a shared legislation catalog on our website.

If you have legislation (passed or introduced) addressing a current issue of regional or national importance, please share it with us!

Keeping Up with NFWL

On May 25, NFWL took a trip across town to Capitol Hill to see journalist Cokie Roberts speak, in celebration of the 100th anniversary of electing the first woman to Congress. It was an honor to be a part of this historic occasion and participate in the discussion of women in politics.
Congratulations to our very own Executive Director, Jody Thomas, who was recently recognized as one of Elysian Magazine’s Summer 2017 Women of Excellence. Elysian Magazine sat down to interview Jody Thomas and discuss her work with NFWL. Congratulations Jody! We at NFWL are so proud of you for earning this award. Arkansas State Representative LeAnne Burch held our first Hidden Figures Viewing and Coding Party in Monticello, AR on May 10 for fifteen teen girls in her community. So glad we got to bring this program to Arkansas!
The second Hidden Figures Viewing and Coding Party was May 16 in Santa Clarita, California. Another fifteen teen girls had the opportunity to participate in this program. Thanks Mayor Pro Tem Laurene Weste and Councilwoman Marsha McLean for attending to speak with attendees.
May 22 brought NFWL back to Minneapolis, Minnesota for a planning trip for the 2017 Annual Conference. NFWL staff had a blast in the Twin Cities. Looking forward to you joining the fun in November.
