Concierge

Date: Thursday, Friday, Saturday
Time: Afternoon/Evening
Number: 1-2

The concierge requires people who are familiar with the area surrounding the Seelbach who can assist our guests in making dinner/evening activity reservations for Friday and Saturday nights and possibly Monday morning/afternoon. (The CVB has offered to help with this)

Gift Bag Stuffers

Date: Tuesday, October 9
Time: Mid-morning
Number: 10 or more

The gift bags will be put together at the Seelbach Hotel on Tuesday, October 9. NFWL needs help stuffing the 500 bags and getting them ready for distribution on Wednesday, October 10. (Shannon Tivitt & Councilwoman Ward-Pugh are handling this)

Note Takers for Policy Committees, Workshops, Roundtables

Dates & times to coincide with policy session as listed on conference schedule. Detailed agenda including all policy topics will be available by September 20.

Students and anyone interested in politics/public policy are requested to take notes during our policy committees, workshops and roundtables (agenda with topics will be released soon). NFWL needs notes and attendance sheets for each session. The sessions are also tape recorded and volunteers are needed to be sure the recorder is turned on and the tapes are catalogued after the meeting.

There are two policy committees and two workshops that meet concurrently so two volunteers are needed during the time period of each, one to cover each topic. There are five concurrent roundtables on both Friday and Saturday so five volunteers are needed, one for each topic.

The notes gathered will be highlights of the speaker presentations and legislative discussion, to include any action items the legislators discuss during the meeting. NFWL staff will be in charge of supplying the attendance sheets, tape/recorders, policy information folders and other items for distribution. At least one NFWL staff member will attend each meeting.

Registration Desk/Volunteer Office

(schedule below)

The Registration Desk will be open Wednesday afternoon/evening, Thursday all day and Friday morning. Volunteers will be needed to hand out gift bags and name tags, as well as individualized folders for legislators and speakers. There will be at least one NFWL staff member heading up the registration area as well.

The Volunteer Office will be open all day Friday, Saturday and Sunday. It will be where legislators are directed to ask questions about evening activities, to sign up for any special events and to get in touch with NFWL staff. Volunteers are needed to staff this office while NFWL staff organize the meals, policy sessions and other events.

These volunteers will also be asked to help direct legislators from their workshops to the roundtables or other events throughout the day as well as organize the legislators when buses arrive for their departure to off-site venues.
