Joining the NFWL team is an opportunity to make connections with elected women from across the nation.

NFWL is currently accepting rolling applications for our Special Projects Intern positions – available Spring, Summer, and Fall. 


Special Projects Internship

Responsibilities include:

Communications & Correspondence

  • Draft emails to elected women regarding meetings and NFWL programs and events
  • Track invitations and RSVPs for events and meetings
  • Assist with social media campaigns and draft weekly posts for facebook, twitter, linkedin, and instagram
  • Draft press releases, information packets, and website content that pertain to programming
  • Call the offices of elected women on various occasions when requested
  • Assist with social media posts & drafting newsletter articles
  • Design and compile email blasts and monthly e-newsletters to be sent to over 5,000 contacts
  • Assist with NFWL committee communications and scheduling meetings

 

Project Management

  • Handle logistics for scheduled events and board meetings
  • Help with the logistics and travel plans of NFWL Student Scholarship Contest winners to attend the annual conference
  • Maintain databases for registration and sign-ups for NFWL Conferences, Summits, Grab n Go Toolkits, etc.
  • Work with the communications team to keep the website up to date to reflect current programs and events
  • Correspond with program leads to ensure efficient and effective implementation of ongoing projects and programs (ODF Backpack Program, Women of Excellence Award Program, Annual Conference Registration Management, Willingness to Serve, Policy with Pew Calls, etc.)

 

Database Management

  • Maintain up-to-date contact information for foundation members & sponsors
  • Update trackers for social media and website views & interactions
  • Ensure Highrise CRM is accurate with “active member” tracking and new contacts

 

Issue Summits and Annual Conference

  • Assist in keeping an accurate record of details for travel and lodging plans of elected women attendees
  • Assist with the outreach efforts to elected women to increase attendance
  • Aid with creation of program books, scripts, email communications to attendees, on-site logistics

 

Research

  • Research newly elected women immediately following elections
  • Research and obtaining media contact lists (topic based, state by state, national) through sponsors, state directors, and other research
  • Research topics for possible newsletter articles

 

Additional Responsibilities

  • Assist the Executive Director with tasks as needed (filing, mailing, phone calls to sponsors, etc.)
