Organizations rooted in efforts to empower women through information, experience, and education, like the National Foundation for Women Legislators (NFWL), have been working to promote increased opportunities for women and girls in science and engineering.

It's often forgotten that since the beginning of time, women have served in all wars and conflicts. The history of women in the military is a history of love for country, service, commitment, dedication, and courage, and it includes sacrifices that have largely gone unrecognized. That is changing, and we must be part of that change.

NFWL President & CEO Robin Read represents the Foundation and the US during the International Agriculture & Rural Affairs Journalists meeting in Spain. Ms. Read reflects on her experiences both as a farm-owner and former journalist.
