NFWL Book Event Pays Tribute to Women's Leadership
On Wednesday, October 28th NFWL hosted the launch party for longtime NFWL friend and CNN political pundit, Leslie Sanchez. Released just this month "You've Come A Long Way… Maybe" profiles the media's treatment of Sarah Palin, Michelle Obama, and Hillary Clinton during the 2008 election cycle.
The event was styled by Mario De Armas of TLC's hit show Trading Spaces and hosted in Washington, DC.
Leslie followed the 2008 presidential election-which, for America's women was the most significant national contest since they earned the right to vote in 1920. From Iowa and New Hampshire to Barack Obama's inauguration, what she learned, and what that election meant for women in politics is the story that she is now ready to tell.
Leslie paid tribute to the NFWL's elected women who attended the event and celebrated their leadership in the face of the sexism that is still all too prevalent in the media and politics.
