NFWL Annual Conference

Atlanta, Georgia

November 15-19, 2012

The National Foundation for Women Legislators (NFWL) that this year's Annual Conference will take place November 15-19, 2012 at The Ritz-Carlton in Atlanta, Georgia!

With Georgia on our mind, we are thrilled to have the opportunity to celebrate NFWL's 74th Anniversary and host this year's Conference in a dynamic city rich in diversity and a bustling hub for industry, the arts, and most importantly - southern hospitality!

For 74 years, NFWL's annual events have provided elected women an opportunity to collaborate on critical issues that are important to their constituents. Through a series of workshops, policy committee meetings, roundtable discussions, and expert presenters, our conferences provide current and former elected women from all levels of government with the tools and connections necessary to pursue their legislative goals and make a difference in their communities.

NFWL's National Policy Committees officially meet each year at the Conference, and remain active throughout the year through teleconferences and special events. These Committee meetings offer elected women and industry experts an opportunity to discuss timely issues facing the nation with the purpose of adopting Resolutions, drafting model legislation, and raising awareness about key programs and initiatives. NFWL currently facilitates eight full Committees including: Business, Housing & Economic Development; Crime, Justice, Terrorism & Substance Abuse; Education, & Training; Energy, Natural Resources & Agriculture; Health & Empowerment; International Affairs; Tribal Affairs; and Veterans Affairs.

Each year we select topical issues for our programming in order to promote constructive dialogue among elected women and issue experts. At NFWL's 2011 Conference hosted in Des Moines, Iowa, women leaders from across the nation gathered to discuss issues ranging from the opportunities and challenges associated with Medicaid Reform, financial literacy, broadband technology, veteran support services, STEM education, diverse energy solutions, and more.

Please be sure to register for the Conference and reserve your hotel room as soon as possible!
