(ALEXANDRIA, VA) –Representative Tarah Toohil has been selected to serve in leadership for the nation’s oldest non-partisan organization addressing the needs of elected women at all levels of government.
Tarah Toohil was recently appointed to serve as the 2016 Pennsylvania State Director for the National Foundation for Women Legislators (NFWL).
“I am extremely honored and tremendously excited to be named as NFWL’s State Director for Pennsylvania. The National Foundation for Women Legislators became a resource for me a mere two years and I am determined to assist other women in opening doors and creating opportunities for one another. The ability to share legislative agendas and experiences across party lines and state lines has increased our ability to create better outcomes for the people we represent. I am looking forward to a productive 2016,” said Toohil.
Elected women from across the country will gather in Orlando, Florida from November 16-20, for NFWL’s 2016 Annual Conference to identify effective solutions to some of the nation’s most timely and pressing issues. Providing a non-partisan environment that encourages dialogue and the sharing of information and experiences, women leaders are able to build coalitions, share the concerns of their constituents, and identify out-of-the-box solutions to the most pressing issues facing their communities today.
“We are so proud Toohil has accepted a leadership position in our Foundation,” stated Delaware State Representative Helene Keeley, NFWL’s 2016 Chair. “She will play a key role in aiding women legislators in Pennsylvania state lines, as we grow as an organization.”
Toohil begins serving in her new position immediately, and will hold this office through the 2016 year.
