Mark you calendars for our 2021 Annual Conference in Memphis, Tennessee
November 8-10!

In the meantime, watch for your invitations to our featured programming through webinars, newsletters and social media. We still want to hear from you throughout 2020, so don’t let the distance keep us apart! Stay engaged and connected with us virtually, and our reunion in 2021 will be sweet!

The Elected Women of Excellence Award was created to identify and honor women who have worked tirelessly, often breaking down barriers and overcoming obstacles that once seemed insurmountable, to serve their communities. This year we have seen the amazing work our elected women have lead during these difficult times.  Please take the time to nominate any elected woman serving on the county, city, or state level who is currently serving in office. Each winner will receive formal recognition and an award.

Check out the Society of Human Resource Management’s various resources such as a health and safety hub, a back to work checklist, and a workplace culture report that are all informative for both legislators and their constituents.

Thank you to our SHRM, our valued partner, for their continued support of proving our elected women tools to navigate through 2020.

June is Alzheimer’s Brain & Awareness Month and the Alzheimer’s Association has provided us with some excellent resources and materials. These are sure to be helpful for learning more about this tragic disease and the impacts of COVID-19 on both sufferers and caregivers. Be sure to click on the links below to access these resources!

  1. Alz Association Long-Term Care Emergency Preparedness Guidance
  2. Alz Association COVID-19 Tips for Dementia Caregivers
  3. The Alzheimer’s and Dementia Care ECHO® Program: Project ECHO is a free telementoring program that uses videoconferencing technology to build workforce capacity and improve access to specialty care in local communities. Expert multidisciplinary specialist teams and primary care practices come together in regularly scheduled collaborative, interactive learning sessions to share information and learn from each other via case-based discussions and brief didactic presentations.

Farrington Complex Schools launched a project to support families in need by providing 1,000 care packages consisting of nonperishable food, cleaning supplies, masks, toiletries, and other items. Hawaii State Senator and NFWL Chair Donna Kim was to the rescue and helped distribute free groceries earlier this month. Thank you Senator Kim for always being available to help!
