Suffrage Centennial with #FlatSusan.

We hope to have a picture in every state capital at some point this year, but you can still have fun while session and meetings are on pause and you’re home. Take a #FlatSusan picture of wherever you are and whoever you’re with! Let us know where she is and what she means to you.

You can instantly download a “Flat Susan” HERE.
Color, Decorate, and Show her off!

If so, nominate her to receive NFWL’s Women of Excellence Award. The Elected Women of Excellence Award was created to identify and honor women who have worked tirelessly, often breaking down barriers and overcoming obstacles that once seemed insurmountable, to serve their communities. Nominate any elected woman serving on the county, city, or state level who is currently serving in office. Each winner will receive formal recognition and an award.

POLL: Parents Concerned with COVID-19 Back-to-School PlansA month from now, K–12 schools across the nation will re-open their doors with new safety plans in place. The problem is, parents are still concerned that their children will be exposed to COVID-19 at school (75%), according to EdChoice monthly polling (powered by Morning Consult).

Now more than ever, parents need and expect the flexibility to pick an educational setting that’s best for their child and their family. The good news is there are programs state legislators can create to correct that inequity and empower families to do what’s right for them.

Hawaii Representative Lynn DeCoite discusses her upbringing, her work as a farmer and how she continues to advocate for farmers in the legislature. “You can’t just talk the talk, you have to walk the walk” she says.

Thank you Representative DeCoite for walking the walk and being a great champion for farmers and women everywhere!
