Senator Carrie Ruud started her political career as Mayor of Breezy Point, MN. She served in the MN Senate representing Senate District #4 from 2002-2006 and then was re-elected in Senate District #10 in 2012 where she currently serves. Carrie’s district has over 600 named lakes & some of the biggest bodies of water in Minnesota; making the environment & tourism key issues. She serves as Chair of the Environment & Natural Resources Policy Committee, Vice Chair of the Environment & Natural Resources Finance Committee, and is a member of both the Aging & Long-Term Care and Veterans & Military Affairs Committees. She is also a member of the Great Lakes Commission and the Water Commission. Carrie and her husband Dick are small business owners and have been the broker owners of an independent real estate company Lakes & Leisure Realty, Inc. for over 25 years. She loves inline skating, running, cycling, snow shoeing, skiing, hiking, kayaking, anything that brings her into the great outdoors.
