As a proud member of National Foundation for Women Legislators (NFWL), I am excited to announce that this organization is partnering with the National Rifle Association to sponsor an academic scholarship for female students who will be attending college or are currently attending college.

Winners receive a $3,000 college scholarship and an-expense-paid trip to attend NFWL’s Annual Conference. At the Conference, these young ladies speak, receive leadership training, and network with lawmakers. For several winners in prior years, their NFWL scholarship made the difference in funding their attendance at college. Nearly all winners have found their passion for public leadership ignited or strengthened.

I am excited about this scholarship and encourage all female students in Pinal County to apply. I would like to see a young woman from Pinal County win this scholarship.

This year, the eighteenth annual Bill of Rights Essay Contest of NFWL and the National Rifle Association will award six female high school juniors and seniors with a $3,000 college scholarship. The six winners will receive a trip to the 2015 NFWL Annual Conference, Sept. 11-15 in Oklahoma City, OK.

Essays are due no later than 5 p.m. EDT on Friday, June 12. I encourage all female students to seriously consider applying for this scholarship.

Please send your essay to me and I will be happy to sponsor all who are interested in receiving this scholarship. (Cheryl.chase@pinalcountyaz.gov)

I will once again attend the conference and will be honored to introduce and present the scholarship to the Pinal County winner.
