“Dome Tours” are a great way to reach out to the elected women in your state to tell them about NFWL. State legislators organize a breakfast, lunch or evening reception in or near the state capitol and invite all elected women in the state to attend. NFWL Chair Senator Diane Allen attends to talk about the foundation and the benefits of participating in our events and programs. It’s informal and fun. NFWL Issue Summits are day and a half long discussions on some of the most critical issues in America today. They are designed to encourage the building of alliances and foster a safe environment for sharing ideas and learning about new initiatives. Programs include keynote speakers, panel discussions, leadership development sessions, topic training/model legislation, and facilitated roundtable discussions. Click here to find out more.
Every year, NFWL partners with the Office Depot Foundation for their annual Backpack Program. This program gives women legislators the opportunity to distribute backpacks and school supplies to children of their communities who are in need. Every year the National Foundation for Women Legislators joins forces with the National Rifle Association to provide six female high school students with a college scholarship and an all expense paid trip to our annual conference. Visit the Scholarship Page for more information and to apply!
