Sen. Ruud named Legislator of the Year by Minnesota Association of Soil and Water Conservation Districts

Environment and Natural Resource Policy and Legacy Finance Chair Senator Carrie Ruud (R- Breezy Point) was named Legislator of the Year by the Minnesota Association of Soil and Water Conservation Districts for her work in preserving Minnesota’s environment during the 2017 legislative session.

Senator Ruud was a dedicated supporter of the Minnesota Association of Soil and Water Conservation Districts throughout the 2017 legislative session. Senator Ruud chief-authored the 2017 Legacy Finance bill, which makes critical investments in the arts, clean water, parks and trails, and the environment. Senator Ruud’s strong advocacy for MASWCD funding will ensure Soil and Water Conservation Districts across the state will be able to continue their mission of protecting and enhancing the environment.

“I am honored that MASWCD chose me to receive this award,” said Senator Ruud. “Minnesota’s Soil and Water Conservation Districts are our “boots on the ground,” playing a key role in protecting and preserving our environment. I look forward to working with MASWCD on balanced approaches to land and water protection in the future.”
