Meet the NFWL Staff – OLD

Jody Thomas

Jody Thomas | Executive Director

Jody has served as Executive Director of NFWL since December 2013. As such, she is responsible for the leadership and management of NFWL according to the strategic direction set by the Board of Directors. She directs the day-to-day management of all policy, programming, communications, administrative, financial and fundraising activities. Prior to that, she was National Finance Director of two presidential campaigns, managed numerous issue-oriented groups and a vast array of special events, campaigns and committees. Jody was a partner at a public affairs firm for six years. For eight years she managed all fundraising and political activity for Oklahoma Congressman J.C. Watts. She was then appointed by President George W. Bush as Director of Public Liaison for the Office of Personnel Management. Jody holds a Bachelor’s degree from the University of Central Oklahoma. Allison Jensen

Allison Jensen | Director of Membership - Policy and Programs

Allison joined the NFWL team in September of 2014. She currently directs all membership activity for the foundation, including all policy and program initiatives. Allison facilitates all foundation business for the committees, members, and state directors, while coordinating directly with the policy committee chairs to develop the policy strategy. She also provides programming oversight for all NFWL events such as Dome Tours, Summits, Annual Conference, and others. Previously, Allison served as NFWL’s Director of Communications. Prior to that, she was the Founder and President of a young advocate student organization and was recognized as Outstanding Senior at the University of North Carolina at Charlotte, where she received her Bachelor of Science in Public Health. Meghan Cusick

Meghan Cusick | Director of Communications

Meghan joined the NFWL team in January of 2015. As lead of Communications, she manages the marketing and communication initiatives for the foundation. Meghan oversees the editorial process and execution for the generation of the website, social media, monthly newsletter, program launches, and other important happenings. She also manages the operations and implementation of the student scholarship program and assists with the Annual Conference planning. Meghan is a senior at Willamette University in Salem, Oregon, pursuing a degree in Politics and Civic Communication & Media Studies with a focus on effective political communication through social media. She has worked for three years on planning and managing the "Elect Her Now" workshop at Willamette, a program that encourages young women to run for office starting at the collegiate level. Renee Dabbs

Renee Dabbs | Strategy and Membership Development

Renee leads all NFWL projects related to strategy and the best approach to achieving the organization’s goals. She has spent a career working at the highest level to insure that organizations, like NFWL, drive results. She is the principal at Renee Dabbs, LLC where she provides clients with strategic, operational and sales expertise. She has a passion for leading organizations to exceed expectation as well as deliver sustainable results. She brings order to chaos. Renee has spent a lifetime supporting women and is the founder of WEWILL Symposium where she helps women become more engaged in the political process. She also is a board member of Women’s Exchange, an organization that works toward getting more women government appointments. Renee’s business background includes serving as the COO of a top tier Republican media production firm in Florida. Before that she built a sixteen-year track record of success with Procter and Gamble, rising to a senior management position with oversight of a $220 million business and a multi-million dollar marketing client.
