I trust everyone has fully recouped from the holidays, so it’s time to roll up our sleeves and get to work growing our great organization. If we work together we can achieve greatness. You can help us help you be even better public servants.

The first thing we need you to do… fill out your willingness to serve. There’s something for everyone and we make it easy for you to participate. So, whether you want to serve on the executive board or just have a say in the policies we support, we have something for you.

The next action is just as easy, reach out to your elected friends and colleagues and ask them to fill out a membership profile. Simply copy the link and send it to them in an email or text. Remember that old saying, “reach out and touch someone?” You can share all that we have to offer, and help others deliver better service to all our constituents.

Lastly, in order for us to deliver such wonderful services to each of you so that you can better deliver services to your constituents, we need funding. Many of your townships, counties and states already donate to other organizations. It’s budget time, so this is the time to ask that the NFWL also be considered a line item in your budgets. We realize you are all doing more with less, the same is true for us. Our staff at NFWL are delivering millions of dollars in services on a shoestring! Whatever amount you can get appropriated or obtain from leadership, would be appreciated. We are already a part of the budget in several towns and states, so we’d love to see 100% participation.

If you’d like for NFWL to come to your State house and walk the halls or even host a dome tour, we’d be happy to oblige. Just reach out to Jody Thomas at jody@womenlegislators.org.

Have a great day and I look forward to hearing all your thoughts and ideas on how we can make NFWL the best organization ever.
